On June 8, 2023, doctors from Japan and Malaysia visited China Medical University Hospital in Taiwan for a learning exchange with Director Cheng-Ming Peng.
Director Peng has rich experience in minimally invasive surgery and robotic surgery, holding the position of chief surgeon at the Da Vinci Minimally Invasive Surgery Center. He is renowned as the first person in Taiwan to perform the Da Vinci robotic single-incision surgery for pancreatic cancer, and has completed over 800 Da Vinci single-incision surgeries for liver, gallbladder, pancreas, and stomach procedures.
In addition to consulting with Director Peng on the latest techniques and skills in surgery, and how to apply these technologies to improve patient outcomes, the visit also provided an opportunity for Maxima Biotech to showcase Taiwan's comprehensive approach to medical device innovation, from creative ideation, feasibility assessment, design and development, to commercialization. We presented the example of the globally second cordless ultrasonic dissector, which has been in mass production for three years. Moreover, we highlighted potential opportunities for clinical feedback collaboration on their next-generation products.
This visit facilitated valuable exchanges among doctors from three countries, strengthening the ties between the medical communities of Japan, Malaysia, and Taiwan.
